Demonstration against Straight Pride Parade is held.

August 31, 2019

Some 200 marchers, many from out of state, take part in a parade from Copley Square to City Hall Plaza. They are jeered and heckled by a crowd three times that size along the route. Thirty-six counter-demonstrators are arrested, and the subsequent decision not to prosecute some of those arrested by the Suffolk County District Attorney leads to a conflict with a Boston Municipal Court judge that is settled in September 2019.*
